Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2022

I wrote up a new list of my favorite Mother’s Day gift ideas with as many promo codes as I can find. These are all products I know and love, or want for myself. So gift them to a mom you know, or just send a link to someone who needs a hint about what to get YOU. As always, I tried to find small and sustainable businesses to support whenever I can as well as some fabulous Black owned businesses to support. Happy Mother’s Day!

For the mom with a sweet tooth:

A box of chocolates from John Kelly is the best gift I can think of for a chocolate lover. Hand made in Los Angeles by a brilliant chocolatier, they are indulgent and beautifully packaged. Honestly one of my most favorite gifts to give and get. They ship throughout the US! My favs are the chocolate salted caramels, walnut caramel clusters, and the truffle fudge bars.

For the mom who loves good hair:

The Beachwaver curling iron ($99 - $199) is straight up AMAZING. It has a ceramic coating barrel that moves in both directions so you can easily get gorgeous beach waves in about 5 minutes with no tired arms. I bought one a few months ago and it's put an end to my Dry Bar habit. It's a little pricey, but actually just the cost of two blow outs. I have long hair so I went with the 1.25 barrel ($129.) Truly one of the best purchases I've made this year.

For the mom who loves jewelry:

This ethically sourced engraved pendant necklace from RG the Shop is so beautiful and only $62 (and then 15% off with the promo code Mother15). It’s made in LA on 14 carat gold filled vintage charms. Mine has the initials of both of my kids, as well as Zach’s and it’s something I’ll wear every day.

This layering necklace set from Gorjana ($108) is so gorgeous and perfect to glam up every day outfits, who wouldn’t love it?!

For the mom who likes to stay hydrated:

This 17 oz Swell insulated water bottle ($35) is made of stainless steel and keeps water cool for hours. We have one and use it daily!

For the mom you f*cking love:

A candle that says exactly that. Small batch, hand poured wax that will burn for 110 hours.

For the sustainable mom:

Anything from Rothy's. I have three pairs of shoes from Rothy's. They’re so comfortable, you can wash them in the washing machine, and they're made from recycled marine plastic and water bottles.

For the mom you don’t know what to get:

Shutterfly is offering some great Mother’s Day gifts right now. Photo books, wall art, mugs, travel mugs, wine glasses and more. I get my mom and my MIL a photo book every year and I know they love them.

For the mom who’s ready for a vacation:

This scalloped bikini is on sale - only $19 for the top and $15 for the bottoms. I love that high waist, adjustable straps and that it has removable pads on the top. You can’t go wrong with a black high waisted bikini IMO.

A gift certificate to Albion Fit is also a great gift for a mom who needs a new swim suit. They have the most flattering bathing suits for every body type and are so well made. The one pieces are my favorite.

For the mom who loves the beach:

Every mom needs a great picnic or beach blanket, like this one from Seabird Society. This hand made outdoor blanket has a water resistant bottom but feels like a cozy quilt on top. It rolls up into sewn on straps, has a pocket, comes with stakes for the corners, etc. Wood block printed in Jaipur and…. a Mom owned company!

This oversized beach towel ($70) is not only big enough for a mom and kid to snuggle in, it’s made out of recycled cotton!

For the skincare obsessed mom:

I absolutely love Goop's everyday Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 sunblock ($17 - $36.) It's not greasy, there's no white film and it feels so soft and smooth. And it works like a primer for under makeup.

This silky soft body oil from OSEA ($12 - $78) has a cult following for a reason. It makes your skin INSANELY soft and smells AMAZING - like citrus and cypress.

For the mom who loves to cook:

An apron from LA based company (and woman owned) Hedley & Bennett is a PERFECT gift for anyone who loves to cook. The quality is outstanding, they come in tons of patterns and colors. They’re what the pros use so you know they’re good. Use code EMILYBAIRD for 15% off your order!

I don’t have one of these but every mom I know who has one is obsessed with the Always Pan from Our Place. One person I know says it changed her life and she uses it 3 times a day. They sell out all the time they’re so well loved. Normally priced at $145, they’re on sale right now for $115. We use ours every morning for a greens and egg stir fry.

For the mom who loves hot sex, I mean hot coffee:

All I have to say is this mug ($25) is awesome and sparks joy.

For the dog mom:

This cute tee ($38) will show how much you love your fur babies

For the mom who needs to unwind:

These CBD bath bomb gems ($15) from Prima are the most indulgent bath experience ever. Gwyneth Paltrow is a fan and they regularly sell out at Sephora. They’re also a certified B Corp so you know they’re legit and they’re not assholes to the planet. Their whole skincare line is also amazing. Use code EMILY20 for 20% off.

For the mom who loves a beautiful hand bag:

I am fairly obsessed with my Cuyana Crossbody sadle bag ($298). It’s the softest leather and has held up so well. Brings any outfit some polish.
Their leather totes ($228) are also stunning.

For the mom who likes to get cozy:

We got a weighted blanket ($139 - $269) from Bearaby this fall and it’s the best for napping. It’s supposed to help with anxiety and sleep. All I know is it feels amazing and I love the chunky look of it. We got the small napper ($139) but they have much larger ones too.

I know it's spring and not winter, but this recycled cashmere beanie is onsite for $15.60 (normally $44) and comes in 8 colors. If you like a good deal on cashmere, I'd snap this up ASAP.

These LL Bean slippers ($79) are the best slippers in the world...according to me. In fact I'm wearing them right now. I wear these all day long in my house since we have mainly hard wood floors and we don't wear shoes in side. They are beyond comfortable and I love how they look. They actually look super cute with jeans and I'm always tempted to wear them out of the house (they're that comfy and cute) but I like the idea of them never getting outside germs! Am I weird? Anyway, they are the BEST and any mom I know would love them.

For the comfortably classic but still on trend mom:

I got a pair of these Low Key Glow Up Seyshelles slides ($99) and they're SO comfy. I got them in pink, but it was a tough call, the black slides and tan ones ($101) are also super cute and versatile for summer.

Birkenstocks are an easy, comfortable shoe to pair with almost anything. These waterproof white ones are only $49.95. They have adjustable straps designed to exercise foot and leg muscles while providing comfort and white is fun with any outfit.

For the mom that wants to twin with you:

I know I always go on about them, but I bought my mom and myself  matching Lou and Grey sweats ($35) and we both love them. They’re beyond soft. I actually have three pairs, I love them that much. On sale now for only $35 with code GETIT.

Black owned business:

A candle that says it all ($27.20 Mother's Day sale price) from Homesick. Made from natural soy wax with a burn time of 60-80 hours. Top Notes: Bergamot, Lavender, Sage, Mid Notes: Jasmine, Ylang Ylang.

For the mom that loves unique finds:

A subscription to something special from Brother Vellies curated Brooklyn shop. It’s a monthly subscription that delivers handmade goods from around the world to your mom’s door.

Any of the beautiful handmade soaps and creams from Milked ($11) would make a great gift.

For moms who love small businesses:

If you like supporting small businesses and makers,  this link will take you to amazing Black owned Etsy shops

For the woo-woo mom:

These gorgeous rainbow white sage bundles for smudging, energy clearing and spiritual healing will get sort out her juju and they also look beautiful in a little ceramic dish. Great deal too, 7 for $11!

For the mom who loves spices:

Healthy on You spices are made by Sam Brinkley in southern California and so so good. I am obsessed with her za'atar spice blend and go through a jar every couple months. It's available online and at Erewhon.

For the mom that likes to cook and look good: These beautiful aprons from Royal Jelly Harlem are so bright and fun. They’re 100% cotton, African Ankara wax fabric.

It is not everyone's business to write such a great post, one person in a million can write such a beautiful post and you are one of those millions. I hope that you will write more beautiful posts in life and also hope that you will keep climbing the ladder of achievement in your life, very few people do this but I have full hope from you.
